Despite increased uncertainty in the Middle East, UK property values increased by 3% in April compared to April 2025 (the largest year-on-year increase in the last 11 months), according to data released from Nationwide Building Society.
On average, homes will cost you approximately £278,880, with monthly price increases also increasing 0.4%.
Nationwide claims the underlying strength of households' finances and savings may be supporting the property market, although consumer sentiment has weakened; that said, many economists are sceptical about how long the momentum can sustain.
