Lawyers from other countries who want to work in England and Wales can now take a test called the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). This test replaced a previous one called the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS).
The SQE has two parts: one to test legal knowledge and another for practical skills.
If you're already a lawyer in another country, you might not need to take all parts of the SQE. For example, Irish lawyers don't need to take it at all.
