Britain is looking to reform big company audits after recent high-profile collapses left thousands out of work.
The proposed bill would establish a more powerful regulator, the Audit, Reporting, and Governance Authority (ARGA), to force through government-mandated improvements.
ARGA would focus on big firms as well as around 600 private firms with more than 750 staff and an annual turnover of over £750 million.
