In a welcome relief for as many as 2 million workers, the Carer’s Leave Bill is expected to come into force next year.
The Bill means that employees can take up to one week of unpaid carer’s leave per year, a critical difference from the current law.
Employees will also be protected from "detrimental treatment or dismissal for reasons connected with using or trying to use the right."
