Probate applicants in England and Wales

Probate applicants in England and Wales no longer need to fill out an IHT421 probate summary form and attach it to their IHT400 inheritance tax form.

This changed back in January. Now, applicants must start the process by sending HMRC the IHT400, and then they must wait for an acknowledgement letter. This will include the gross and net estate values along with a unique code.
