A recent Law Society survey found that nearly two-thirds of adults in England and Wales have dealt with a legal issue in the last four years, but only about half actually sought professional help. Many people tried to handle things alone or relied on informal advice, even for serious matters.

For us in legal recruitment, that says a lot. Demand for legal services is clearly there, but plenty of people still aren’t getting the support they need. Firms that focus on being approachable, clear and trustworthy have a real chance to stand out.

For candidates, this trend matters too. Firms are looking for people who can combine strong legal skills with empathy, good communication and the ability to support clients who may feel unsure or overwhelmed.
